Prof. Sašo Medved from the University of Ljubljana has presented some outputs of the EAST-GSR project during the 9th Solarpraxis Forum held in Berlin on November 21st, 2008. Established as an inter-disciplinary cooperation exchange, the Forum Solarpraxi brings the players from the solar industry in contact with representatives from the political and financial worldss. It offers up to date and practical lectures on all non-technical issues. The 9th Forum Solarpraxis has covered all forms of solar energy capture - photovoltaic, solar thermal, solar cooling, solar thermal power plants and its equipment and material supply industries - with focuses on the political framework, market development, and on finance and marketing. The event attracted 810 participants from the solar sector.

More than 150 persons have attended this round table. The EAST-GSR project and its first lessons learnt were described in her presentation untitled « The solar thermal case: how to contribute to create a market in European new member states. The EAST-GSR experience”. This presentation will be included in the ENERGAĎA proceedings. The coordination meeting of the project was also held in the framework of the ENERGAďA Exhition and presented in the official programme as a side event.

There is also an influence on legislation and right commitments of energy supplier clients.

After very successful supply side workshop in May, another workshop was organized in autumn 2006 (6-13 October) by same organizers Ape d.o.o.; University of Ljubljana, Faculty for Mechanical Engineering and Chamber of craft of Slovenia.
This time 34 participants attended the workshop "TRAINING FOR INSTALLERS OF SOLAR SYSTEMS"
Mr. Ciril Arkar from University of Ljubljana, was one of the lecturers at the workshop;
As supporting activity the visit of solar thermal system in Snovik was organized.

  • 28th -29th September 2006 : National conference “Zgradbe, energija in okolje 2006– Buildings, energy and environment 2006”
The EAST GSR project was presented at National conference “Zgradbe, energija in okolje 2006– Buildings, energy and environment 2006”, very well established yearly national experts conference on 28. and 29. September 2006 in Terme Olimia, Podcetrtek.
More than 400 experts in field of low energy building attended to the conference. The conference was organized by Slovenian society of solar energy SLOSE and Kubus inženiring d.o.o. University of Ljubljana presented EAST GSR project on exhibition stand.
The EAST GSR leaflet was used for project promotion. The project was briefly presented in Catalogue of exhibitors as well.

There is also information about a present market of solar collectors for domestic hot water, as well as for the potential in recent future. Main sectors like: residential buildings, hospitals and schools, tourist sites etc. are in focus. An economic and financial analysis is provided, as well as barriers for the implementation of solar thermal systems.
