KAPE was established, following the Parliament resolution in 1994, with the aim to serve as a national sustainable energy agency.
KAPE is a stock company working on no-profit bases. The majority of our activities are public service obligations.
Our shareholders are: the Treasury of State, the Industrial Development Agency, the National Economy Bank, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (all public own entities).
The mission of KAPE is to develop and implement sustainable energy policies in Poland successfully implementing EU energy policy into national energy sector, playing a leading role in providing a wide range of sustainable energy services.
KAPE carries out activities aimed at improving rational use of energy (RUE), promotion of renewable energy sources (RES) and energy related environmental issues.
KAPE’s highly recognised position in domestic and EU market, years long experience in international projects, well established contacts within international network of agencies and experts, high level of professional interdisciplinary knowledge together with flexible structured project organisation and experienced personnel, deep knowledge of the EU/national legal and economic framework and programs are our advantage in performance of our mission and achieving our goals and allow for efficient co-operation with our partners.
KAPE has close links with key energy centres, agencies, universities and research centres throughout EU, East and Central Europe and Japan. KAPE is accredited by European Commission as a mandated body. KAPE is a member of European Energy Network (EnR) (since 2005).
KAPE’s capacity was strengthened by EU PHARE Twinning Program (2003-2005).
KAPE has been a partner within numerous international projects and activities e.g. SAVE (since 1999), ALTENER (since 2002), Intelligent Energy ? Europe (since 2004), 5/6. Framework Projects RTD (since 1999), Baltic Energy Sea Regional Co-operation (BASREC), PEEREA in the Energy Charter, steering committees in SAVE, ALTENER, Intelligent Energy – Europe.
Agency runs, founded in 2004 within the framework of bilateral governmental project, Polish-Japan Energy Conservation Technology Centre. The general objective of the centre is to improve energy management in Polish industry, mainly by training industrial energy auditors and managers. PJ ECTC receives support from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
KAPE carries out UNDP project - The Polish Energy Efficient Motor Programme (PEMP) aimed at reducing GHG emissions in Poland by increased market penetration of energy efficient motors.
KAPE’s main activities are:
