Background and status
Slovak Energy Agency was established in 1999 as professional state subsidy organisation directed by Ministry of Economy. It makes an important contribution in the achievement of government energy policy objectives, principally by promoting energy efficiency, new energy technologies and renewables.
In 2007, Slovak Energy Agency becomes Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency.
Subject of activity
- Conceptional, operational, coordinative, informative, educational and promotional Activities focused on decreasing the energy demand in industry and other areas of the national economy,
- Making use of results in science and research, establishing quality systems in order to guarantee the sustainable development
Tasks
- Tasks assigned by the Ministry of Economy of Slovak Republic related to its position as state administration body in energy sector,
- Service to the Slovak Government mainly Ministry of Economy concerning energy sector (legislation framework, implementation of EU Directive etc.
- Inspection and evaluation of energy appliances management (reports and audits), aggregation of these information as basis for energy policy measures,
- documents and experts statements on energy use, state-of-play of energy R&D,
- preparation, evaluation and promotion of projects aimed at energy savings and use of alternative energy sources,
- identification and analysis of barriers in rational energy management,
- Intermediation of investments in energy savings,
- Evaluation of energy efficiency in state administration bodies and in bodies financed from public resources,
- Cooperation in evaluation of energy intensity of appliances,
- Processing of energy audits in industry and other sectors of national economy,
- Processing of data for grant projects in the field of energy management,
- Structural Funds implementation through Sectoral Operational Programme Industry and Services (measures 1.4 a 1.3)
