Heating district facility, Mangalia

The District Heating Station (solar only for DHW production) – Mangalia is one of the former heating stations of the city which has been fully refurbished in the recent years and equipped in 2005 with 360 sqm of solar panels (vacuum tube type) that supply an average percentage/year of 70% from the necessary hot water for 500 dwellings, 12 months/year. The surface is the biggest in Romania by far, up to now. More than 200 sqm of panels are planned to be installed in the coming year to increase the present surface and to connect another few hundreds of apartments to the system.

SIRET hotel, Mamaia

The system consists of solar collectors, hot water accumulator and pumps. The system is simple from a technical point of view. No heat exchanger is involved. The percentage of heat coming from solar panels (needed to heat the water to the necessary temperature) is not exactly known, but should be somewhere below 50%. The rest is assured with gas burners.

Belvedere Hotel, Poiana Brasov

Belvedere is a new hotel located in Poiana Brasov, a very nice ski resort. The panels are of classic type, made of aluminum. The hotel was equipped with solar panels in 2005, the year of construction. The installation is of indirect pump system, this means that a heat exchanger is involved. The hotel is open all year round and so is the solar system which can provide more or less energy, depending on weather conditions and season.
