Elderly Home Tezno, Maribor

Solar system is built at Elderly home TEZNO in Maribor. Elderly home is a company financed by state concession. 80 employees take care for 200 elderly peoples. Solar system is used for heating of hot tap water. System was built in 2004. The investment cost was 500 € per m2 of solar collector. Half of the investment was paid by the owners of the elderly home; the other half was paid by municipality of Maribor in form of non-refundable funds.

Špan Center, Brezovica pri Ljubljnai

Solar system that is used for preparing hot water, heating of a coffeehouse and heating the technological water in carwash consists of 10 units of vacuum solar collectors with heat pipes (30 pipes in one unit) with gross area of 43,5 m2 and aperture area of 28,2 m2. Units are connected in series, flow of heat transfer fluid is variable and depending of the temperature on collectors output. Heat is transferred by mixture of water and antifreeze regardless that system has half-open expansion unit to which heat carrier is drain-down.

Elderly home, Preddvor

The hot tap water is back-up heated by biomass district heating system. First solar collector array was build in 1990 with solar collector area of 144 m˛. Later the second area of solar collectors was added. Each system operates as drain-down system. Water is used as fluid in solar collectors. Fresh water flows through smaller heat storage (800 lit) to larger solar heat storage (6000 lit) and into the back-up heating heat storage (1600 lit) with integrated tube heat exchanger.
Solar collector field was built as two separate solar systems.
